2019/20 Junior Format Information

What Age Group is right for my child? How do the programs differ? 

 

Team age groups are based on the age of your child at 30th June. See below link for program information

Ideal ages are shown below. 

 

Junior Blast, for boys and girls 5-7 years old.
Kids learn the basic skills of cricket to progress into the game based Master Blast
Sessions are run at Monyash Reserve on a Saturday morning
Program begins in November

Master Blast, for boys & girls 7-10 years old

Kids play a modified game on a grass pitch in teams of 6 players.
Skills are further developed & improved in the skill zone
Sessions are run at Monyash Reserve on a Friday evening
Program begins in mid November

Under 10's & U11's

Games are played on a synthetic wicket using plastic cricket ball, pitch is 16m long
For both boys & girls
Pads, helmets, gloves and all the gear comes into play. Club provides it all in a team kit
Teams have a coach/manager and train together once per week so they develop throughout the season
Games are held on a Sunday morning in a home & away fixture, all one days
Season commences in October after school holidays

Under 12's 

Games are played on an 18m pitch length
30 overs per team. All games are one days.

Start using a leather cricket ball (142gram).
All modes of dismissal now come into play, except LBW
Teams have a coach/manager and train together once per week so they develop throughout the season
Games are held on a Saturday morning in a home & away fixture, all one days
Season commences in October after school holidays

Under 13's

  Under 13's begin the new formats this season, final rules TBC. The following information is based on expected rules.

  Games are played on an 18m pitch length 
30 overs per team. All games are one days.

Mixture of 1 Day & 2 Day format games

Season commences in October after school holidays

Under 15's & Under 17's

Formats are based on full cricket rules. Player rotations apply
Teams have a coach/manager and train together once per week so they develop throughout the season
Games are held on a Sunday morning in a home & away fixture.
Mixture of 1 Day & 2 Day format games

Season commences in October after school holidays

 Girls only Cricket U11's, U13's, U15's and U18's

Game formats are based on the U10 rules described above. 
Teams have a coach/manager and train together once per week so they develop during the season
Games are held on a Saturday or Sunday morning in a home & away fixture, one day games only.
Season commences in October after school holidays.
